Rwanda's Irrigation Expansion Doubles Rice Production in Southern Province

New valley irrigation schemes are turning previously arid land into productive rice paddies.
Rwanda's Agricultural Board reports that new valley bottom irrigation schemes in the Southern Province have more than doubled rice production, reducing the country's dependence on imports and improving farmer incomes.
